Erasmus

Erasmus

1466 - 1536

Erasmus was a Dutch humanist, writer, and great scholar of the northern Renaissance. He also translated and edited many classical and early Christian works, and worked on the Greek text of the New Testament. A rare work by Erasmus that has passed across our shelves is first collected editions of the “Paraphrases” of the letters of Paul, which were undertaken shortly after Erasmus’s revolutionary edition of the Greek New Testament of 1516.
