This week's catalogue offers a wide-ranging survey of African American history and culture, anchored by several extraordinary highlights: a letter from a free Black community in Canada comprised largely of fugitive slaves, and a scarce edition of the first African American anti-slavery songster, as seen here.
We are delighted to present this week's wide ranging list of new acquisitions. Highlights include a freshly catalogued cache of material from the General Theological Library; a first American edition of The Hobbit, in its iconic dust jacket; and the first History of Virginia printed in Virginia.
Not restricted to glitz and glamor, this performing arts catalogue includes contractual disagreements, a peek behind the scenes of Ginsberg's rock and roll album, and an archive of post-punk film in the East Village.
