Royal 8vo (7 x 10 1/2 inches). ORIGINAL PHOTOGRAPHS. Morocco-backed purple cloth gilt, gilt edges. Rebacked with morocco, original morocco label laid down, lower cloth board replaced, some browning or soiling of mounts, some light spotting and browning of text, else a very good copy.

Janin's biographical tribute to the famous Swiss-born Jewish tragedienne of the French theater Mlle. Rachel, (Elisa Rachel Felix) following her unfortunate death of consumption at the age of 38.¶ [Pierre Marie Rene] Henri de la Blanchere was the author of several works relating to photography including “L'Art du Photographe” published the same year by Aymot and also “La Photographie des Commencants. (Paris, 1863) and “Les Chiens de Chasse. Races françaises” (1875).
