Borges wrote the introductory essay (pp. 9-13) for this collection of the work of Pedro Figari. Inscribed by the author on the first blank, to Argentine art critic Romulado Brughetti: “Estimado Profesor, finalmente le envio al folleto solicitado, Lo saluda, Jorge Luis Borges”

Romualdo Brughetti (1912-2003) was an Argentine art critic and correspondent of Borges, and regular recipient of inscribed copies of Borges’ works. In the late 1930s, Brughetti made a study of the Argentine malaise, published as Descontento creador. Afirmación de una conciencia argentina (1943).
