Following his abdication in favor of his nephew Franz Joseph, Ferdinand lived in Reichstadt (in the Reicherberg district) and in Prague, and the condolences conclude with a wish that the Empress continue to reside in Bohemia.

The testimonial is presented in a beautiful late-nineteenth century velvet binding bearing the Habsburg device.
