Item #316762

A large and elaborate testimonial from the notables of the Bohemian town of Reichenberg (today Liberec in the Czech Republic) extending formal condolences to Maria Anna of Savoy, consort of Ferdinand I (1793-1875), who was ruler of Austria Hungary from 1835 to 1848. Following his abdication in favor of his nephew Franz Joseph, Ferdinand lived in Reichstadt (in the Reicherberg district) and in Prague, and the condolences conclude with a wish that the Empress continue to reside in Bohemia.

The testimonial is presented in a beautiful late-nineteenth century velvet binding bearing the Habsburg device.
