T.J. Cobden-Sanderson's Copy with 2 Pages of MS Notes

Wordsworth An Anthology.

Thavies Inn: Richard Cobden-Sanderson, 1920.

First edition. 254, [2] pp. Printed at The Complete Press, West Norwood, London. 8vo. T.J. Cobden-Sanderson's Copy with 2 Pages of MS Notes. Publisher's blue cloth, spine titled in gilt. Spine darkened and gilt dulled, some light foxing to final few leaves Item #308709

T.J. Cobden-Sanderson's copy, signed ("T.J. Cobden Sanderson") on the flyleaf and with his marginal notes in pencil throughout and 2 pages of notes ("For a 2nd. Ed.") in pen on the rear free endpaper, dated 24 and 30 January 1922 and initialed ("T.J.") twice.
The present anthology (published by his son Richard Cobden-Sanderson) is in essence a trade edition of the 1911 Doves Press edition of Wordsworth's poetry, A Decade of Years, though with the poems reordered and a new Preface by Cobden-Sanderson. His manuscript notes mostly concern the reordering of poems for a proposed second edition. That edition never appeared and Cobden-Sanderson died in September of 1922.
