A quittance for the Colonel of Dragoons to receive 80 livres for the foot soldiers. The Marquis was made Lieutenant General in 1696. He began his military career in 1670 and spent much of his life fighting in Louis XIV's European wars in Flanders, Germany, Italy, Luxembourg and the Piedmont.
