Diatribe against Fernando Wood, 1812-1881, Mayor of New York City (1854-1857, 1859-1861). Wood was a successful shipping merchant and Tammany leader, who apparently permitted graft to run riot in city government. He was influential in creating Central Park. This little contemporary document is dedicated to various named leaders in the community and is intended to expose the "mercantile frauds and villanies, and political and official wrongs, of the present Mayor of New York."
