A very attractive work, showing two snipe in marsh land. Born in 1894, Green, a fine British artist and naturalist, contributed to a number or ornithological books in the 1930s and 40s; his book, “Wing-Tips, the identification of birds in flight” appeared in 1947. We have been unable to determine who the “McCarthy” is who presented this drawing to Connett, but in doing so he made him a handsome gift.

A SPLENDID DRAWING WITH A DISTINGUISHED PROVENANCE.
