We are thrilled to discuss book scholarship and the book arts at the upcoming Bibliography Week Booksellers Showcase on January 21. Below you’ll find a selection of highlights, including several recent acquisitions, that we will exhibit. 

The countdown to the 250th anniversary of the birth of the United States is well underway, and, like many of you, we've been binge-watching the Ken Burns documentary on the American Revolution. The use of original documents to tell the story of America, a hallmark of Burns’s work, has been impressive.

You'll find items featured within the documentary in this catalogue of 76 books and manuscripts relating to the American Revolution.

Spires, quatrefoils, gargoyles, ravens, and ghouls...haunted castles and mysterious churches...these books exist in the murky vaulted transept at the meeting of literature and architecture. This catalogue of works in "the only proper style"—that is, of course, Gothic—includes the first American edition of Radcliffe's Mysteries of Udolpho, the first edition of Poe's Raven, and the first printing with original dust jacket of Faulkner's Sound and Fury.
