Aldolfo Best-Maugard (1891-1964) was a Mexican painter and author of “An Approach to Creative Design” (1925). He established and promoted a new drawing teaching method, based on popular art elements and on the study of pre-Columbian forms, that was part of the nationalistic environment of that time. The theory stated that with seven primary lines any natural form could be built. He later became an experimental filmmaker in both Mexico and the United States.
