First edition, one of 75 copies, for Max Beerbohm, written out in the author's hand on the colophon and signed by him in his cipher, which was also added by him to head of spine. Woodcut title-border, initials and head- and tailpieces. 40pp. 8vo (184 x 125mm). Vellum spine with his autograph cipher at top; blue boards, lacking glassine jacket; top third of front board sunned, with lesser toned areas at other margins; two small abrasions to rear board; light edge wear. Recreations was first printed in an edition of 75 copies of 34 pages, which were then destroyed; the text was extended to 40 pages by the addition of three more poems and reprinted in an edition of 81 copies, of which six were on large paper.
