Item #372540

The 1950 New Directions reissue of McCuller's second novel, which features both a new introduction by Tennesee Williams and, in this copy, his humorous inscription from both of them on the first free endpaper: "Tennessee Williams / for me & Carson." Also of note is the striking Alvin Lustig dust jacket design. A near fine version of a somewhat scarce edition, with a unique association.
