Engraved general title (bound following the part one sectional title) with a full page woodcut of the seal of the city of Hamburg on verso. [4], 423, [1, blank]; [2], 425-772; [773]-1135, [1, blank]; [1139]-1572pp. Folio. Contemporary pigskin, stamped in blind, light soiling and wear. Very minor worming, first two leaves with old paper strengthening along the fore-edge. Provenance: Rev. Edwin A. Dalrymple (bookplate); Maryland Diocesan Library; General Theological Seminary. A re-issue of Elias Hutter's 1587 Hebrew Bible – the earliest production of a Hebrew press in Hamburg –, published with an new engraved title (as above, here bound in following the first sectional title), published in conjunction with the Hamburg Polyglot of 1596, "thus making the whole publication appear a tetraglot in two volumes" (Darlow & Moole). Printed with the root letters in thick type and the inflectional letters in hollow type.
