An early copy of the screenplay giving sole screenplay credit to director Michael Cimino. A dispute with the Screenwriter Guild of America eventually award Deric Washburn sole authorship, with Cimino getting "story by" credit along with two others.
It was nominated for an Oscar, a BAFTA, and a Golden Globe for best screenplay.
