Item #369680
The enduring children's classic adventure story and the all-time archetypal pirate story. The hesitant issuing of this book (750 of the first issue of 200 were released in various bindings with July ads) is probably due to the lack of enthusiasm shown when first serialized in 1881, but upon the book's appearance, a critic hailed it as the best adventure story in print, and the rest is history.
