Both on the artist's Fryern Court, Fordingbridge stationery: one dated February 11, 1942, the other (of roughly the same period) dated simply "Thursday.".

Single sheets, written recto and verso. 8vo 8 x 5 inches (20 x 12.5 cm). Usual folds, some toning, the blank upper corner of one sheet missing.

each about 30 lines, to "My dear Cecil" or "Dearest Cecil" from "Augustus"
The dated letter concerns "Louisa" who appears to exist on borrowings from friends, and "...like some beloved and aging pet, she should be mercifully shot and stuffed. How well she would look in a glass case! I wish someone would record her wonderful talk first. I can only think of Osbert [Sitwell--struck through] to do it properly. but it would mean a long series of Sitwellings." He mentions doing some drawings of Beaton in both letters, though this seems not to have transpired.
