Item #325040

Inscribed to Ed L. Gates by many of the photographers. Among them Ansel Adams, Minor White, James E. Durrell, Jr., Paul Caponigro, Gene Saunders, and Beaumont Newhall, the director of Eastman House. A handwritten note from Gene Saunders laid in presenting the catalogue's recipient a portrait of Ansel Adams drinking soup, signed, dated, and titled by Saunders on the back, “sketch photo of Ansel Adams which I shot of him while he was lunching here”.

This was the second publication of George Eastman House under Beaumont Newhall's direction to coincide with a major exhibition of the collection.
