Inscribed by the author in the year of publication in Peking to Mr. and Mrs. Roy Chapman Andrews. Andrews, an explorer, naturalist, was President of the Explorer's Club, director of the American Museum of Natural History, and the model for Indiana Jones. From 1909 to 1930 Andrews was engaged in explorations collecting fossil specimens throughout China and Mongolia.
