Item #310452

An attractive copy of this important collection of late-career Yeats, gathering together some of his finest work from the period, including "Byzantium," "Crazy Jane Talks with the Bishop" and other Crazy Jane poems, "Coole Park, 1929," "Colle and Ballylee, 1931," "For Anne Gregory," and others. Yeats published a collection under the same title in 1929, but it did not include any of the above named poems. Yeats intended the present collection as a companion to The Tower (1928), the two books together representing "the greatest poetry of Yeats in his difficult later manner ... They constitute a peak in English poetry" (Connolly).
