A very detailed etching typical of the meticulous style of Arms, renowned for his prolific printmaking, specifically of Gothic architecture.

Julian P. Boyd was a librarian (1940-52), and later history professor at Princeton University. His preservation work regarding the site of the Battle of Hastings led to his appointment of honorary Commander of the Order of the British Empire. His scholarship of The Papers of Thomas Jefferson, edited from 1944 until his death, have been deemed most influential, and have set a new standard for reliability and accuracy in historical editing.
