A.W. Lawrence’s “probably complete” inventory, Books at Clouds Hill, lists only a copy of the Gregynog Press edition of 1930 given him by Edward Garnett, but Lawrence clearly knew the work long before then.

With a few clean pencil annotations in the hand of Shea Johnson, long-time U.S. representative of the T.E. Lawrence Society, identifying passages from this book which find an echo in ‘To S.A.’, Lawrence’s dedicatory poem to the 1926 edition of Seven Pillars. These are discussed in her article, Discoveries, in Journal of the T.E. Lawrence Society XII:2 (2003), pp. 34-64.
