Original stitched cream paper wrappers, vertical title label to upper cover. The scarce first syntax of the Dutch language printed in Japan, here with the woodcut text in italic freehand. Genpo was a well known Dutch scholar who introduced Dutch learning to Japan, this printed at a time when such work could well have been banned or burned.
