The Monte Waterbury Cup at the Meadow Brook Club in Westbury, Long Island, was named in honor of 10 goal player James "Monte" Waterbury (1876-1920). He and his brother Lawrence Waterbury, Harry Payne Whitney, and Devereaux Milburn were known as the Big Four when they won the 1909 International Polo Cup.

Gerald Balding (1903-1957) was 10 goal polo player from England (Laffaye, p. 27)
