This image appears as plate II in Six Drawings illustrating Théophile Gautier's Romance Mademoiselle de Maupin (London, Leonard Smithers, 1898). This is a copy from another printing, presumably made by Smithers; the limitation is not known. 1 vols. Image 3-3/4 x 2-3/4 inches; matted and framed to 8-3/4 x 7-3/4 inches overall. Evidently unrecorded. Lasner, in his Beardsley Checklist, mentions copies on plain paper, vellum, Japanese vellum, and white satin, but not chine collé, which this definitely is.
