Early edition of these devotional treatises by the famous jurist, containing the first appearance of his "Poems upon Christmas Day" (pp. 91-118 of part 2). The celebration of Christmas, having recently been outlawed under Cromwell, had just been reinstituted with the Restoration.

Signed by Richard Bassett on top of title-page which is backed. He was a delegate to the U.S. Constitutional Convention from Delaware.
