Firrst Edition. Limited to 483 copies. Engraved title, frontispiece, plates including facsimile of pencil sketch of Dickens published here for the first time. 90pp. 1 vols. 4to. Original half parchment. Some spotting of binding and text. From the library of the noted collector William K. Bixby with his engraved bookplate.
Item #19733
Bixby had had privately printed in 1898 the “Charles Dickens and Maria Beadnell Private Correspondence,” the originals of which were in his collection. The Dickens-Kolle letters were in Harry B. Smith's private collection.
Henry William Kolle was an early friend of Dickens, and a go-between during ther period of Dickens’ infatuation with Maria Beadnell.
