Bixby had had privately printed in 1898 the “Charles Dickens and Maria Beadnell Private Correspondence,” the originals of which were in his collection. The Dickens-Kolle letters were in Harry B. Smith's private collection.
Henry William Kolle was an early friend of Dickens, and a go-between during ther period of Dickens’ infatuation with Maria Beadnell.
