Davis (1864-1916) was the leading reporter of his day (his dispatches are studied in journalism schools), as well as an author and playwright and his good looks and manly elegance made him the beau ideal of a generation of American young men. He was the model for the Gibson Man and the progenitor of the clean shaven look.
This is the best editon of his works, published in the year of his death, with first edition material in volumes 10, 11 and 12.
