Rudyard Kipling was an English poet, novelist, and short story writer and is known as one of the more popular writers in England in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. His most notable work of fiction is the famous children's book The Jungle Book (1894). His other popular works include Kim (1901), "The Man Who Would be King" (1888), "Mandalay" (1890), "Gunga Din" (1890), "The Gods of the Copybook Headings" (1919), "The White Man's Burden" (1899), and "If-" (1910).
