This piece originially published in the April 6, 1915 issue of The London Daily News & Leader; it would be collected (as Section III of "Poland Revisited") in Notes on Life & Letters. This was the eighth of the twenty-five privately published pamphlets Thomas J. Wise and Conrad produced between 1919 and 1920. The first ten of Wise's twenty were generally issued without actual copy numbers being inked onto the limitation page.
