Thomas Stearns Eliot was an American poet, publisher, playwright, literary and social critic, essayist, and winnder of the Nobel Prize in Literature. In 1927 he naturalized as a British subjec and renounced his American citizenship. His most notable works include The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock, The Waste Land, The Hollow Men, Ash Wednesday, Four Quartets, and Murder in the Cathedral
