Charles Duveen, a younger brother of the celebrated picture dealer Joseph Lord Duveen wrote this under a pseudonym and did business under the Charles name as he was forbad to use the Duveen name in business was an interior decorator and antique dealer, who set up his own successful business in New York, fitting out rooms in a Tudor or Jacobean style very popular at the time ; his clients included The Houghtons (as seen here), William Randolph Hearst, Lyle Comfort and John D. Rockefeller.
