Due to the Edict of Nantes Allix was forced to leave France for England where he founded a French church for refugees based upon the Anglican church. He was highly esteemed for his learning and principles and on intimate terms with eminent men of the time. Apparently Louix XIV wished for his return to France with the stipulation of renouncing his protestantism but he refused. He is known for his work “Reflections on the Books of the holy Scripture, to establish the Truth of the Christian Religion” as well as many others.
