Karen Blixen (“Isak Dinesan”)

1885 – 1962

Karen Blixen, who wrote under the pseudonym Isak Dinesen, was a Danish author best known for Out of Africa (1937), her memoir of life on a coffee plantation in Kenya. She also wrote short stories and novels, including Seven Gothic Tales (1934) and The African Farm (1937).
