1899 - 1961

Ernest Hemingway was an American journalist, novelist and short story writer. He won the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1954 and Pulitzer Prize for Fiction winner in 1953. Hemingway published seven novels, six short story collections, and two works of non-fiction; many of his other works were published posthumously. The majority of Hemingway's works are based on recurring themes of American literature such as love, war, wilderness, and loss. He is perhaps best remembered for the economy of his prose, a literary style that produced hundreds of imitators. His most notable works are The Sun Also Rises, For Whom the Bell Tolls, and The Old Man and the Sea
