First published in London in 1738, this 1742 Rogers and Fowle Boston edition is the first American edition of this devotional. This example with early American female ownership to Abigail Bromfield, possibly Abigail Coney Bromfield (ca. 1700-1777) but more likely Abigail Bromfield Phillips (1726-1775), who married William Phillips Sr. (1722-1804) in 1744.
