Item #302951

First volume of the Hobby Horse, publication of the influential Century Guild. Notable for the fine facsimile of the rare Blake broadside Little Tom the Sailor. The ballad is by William Hayley, and in the autumn of 1800, Blake engraved the two images on pewter. The broadside was “Printed for & Sold by the Widow Spicer of Folkstone, for the benefit of her orphans”. The facsimile is uncredited but is by William Muir.
