In Cuir Cisele Binding by David. Bound in full brown morocco, upper cover with bevelled edges and large rectangular calf inset, with elaborate pictorial design in relief, showing two devils playing with a heart, while an angel covers her face, labelled “Marguerite et Faust”; spine in four compartments with three double raised bands, cover edges gilt, turn-ins blind-tooled with blue and green morocco onlays, linings of blue and white satin embroidered with green silk and gilt thread in a floral design, a.e.g., original wrappers bound in, by Salvator David. Perforated library-stamp and ink accession number on t.p., and p. 15; jointst slightly rubbed, inner hinges starting. In morocco-tipped slipcase.
