Written by a planter who spent most of his life there. It was written primarily to correct Oldmixon.” (Church). Published anonymously, it is illustrated with reduced reproductions of engravings from De Bry, by Gribelin. “Beverly’s style is easy, unsophisticated, and pleasing, and his work is most useful for the period following the Restoration.” (Church).
