Sir Arthur Keith (1866-1955) was a British anatomist and physical anthropologist who specialized in the study of human evolution. His book Human Embryology and Morphology (1902) went into many editions during his lifetime. Keith heeded Hodson’s call: in 1915 he published The Antiquity of Man, a review of the fossil record; and The Engines of the Human Body (1919), a work for a popular audience; in the 1920s he was called for the preservation of Darwin's home at Downe in Kent.
