GEORGE BARKER was a major American landscape photographer who lived and worked in Niagara Falls, NY and won many awards for the superb views typified by the fine mounted heliotypes used here in this government report. Upon his death in 1894, his negatives were purchased by Underwood & Underwood of New York.
