Printer’s apprentice turned prolific author, Restif de la Bretonne (1734-1806) was one of the distinctive literary voices of late eighteenth-century France whose works chronicle the excesses of the ancien régime and the tumults of the Revolution.
Exceedingly scarce édition de tête of this bibliography, which remains important and has been reprinted on several occasions.
