A fine, early watercolor illustration by Morrow [1869-1955]. Morrow, whose two brothers were minor Punch cartoonists, studied art in Paris and in 1896 began a dual career as illustrator and periodical cartoonist: the drawing offered here is from his first book. In 1906 he began contributing to Punch, and continued until his death; his Times obituary called him “probably the most consistently comic artist of his day”.
