On November 11, 1958, Nelson Rockefeller was elected to his first term (of four) as Governor of New York. On the following day, he penned this inscription to the famous LIFE photographer:
"Dear Eisie,
Welcome to Mount Sacro - I know of no more beautiful or restful spot, nor anyone who can do it more justice, pictorially speaking.
It's wonderful to have you here.
