Say's five letters written in respose to Malthus's Principles of Political Economy, defending the theories Say had enunciated in his classic Traité d'économie politique (1803). Say's work was immediately successful, and an English translation was published in the following years. An essential piece in the ongoing debate between the classical proponents of the 'law of markets' and their opponents.
