Item #378216

An early edition of the King James Bible, which was first issued by Robert Barker in 1611. As Darlow & Moule note, "many of these Bibles were issued in a mixed state. It is practically impossible to distinguish between all the various editions," which were issued under many different combinations of the names of Robert Barker, Bonham Norton and John Bill due to disputes over the royal warrant. They are also frequently incomplete.

The supplementary works, probably issued with the Bible or bundled for sale later, are appended as follows:
1. Two Right Profitable and Fruitfull Concordances, or, Large and Ample Tables Alphabeticall. London: Bonham Norton and Iohn Bill, 1619 [i.e. 1620]. [164] pp. ESTC S108679.
2. The Whole Booke of Psalmes. Collected into English Meeter… London: Printed for the Company of Stationers, 1619. [x], 91, [13] pp. ESTC S108681.
3. [The Booke of Common Prayer. London: Bonham Norton and Iohn Bill, 1621]. [82] pp. [ONLY]. Lacking all before leaf A2. ESTC S124273.
4. [Speed, John]. The Genealogies Recorded in the Sacred Scriptures, according to every Familie and Tribe. [London: printed by John Beale, 1619-1621?]. [ii], 34, [4] pp. Woodcut tables; concluding double-page woodcut map of Canaan. ESTC S123044.
