A classic Art Deco-era cocktail book, with the wrapper design and interior illustrations by artist Paul Colin, best known for his portraits of Josephine Baker and 1920s jazz artists in Paris. His charming and humorous drawings depict many of the things one would expect to find in a fine drinking establishment, including bar stools, wine bottles, coupe glasses, and cocktail shakers, as well as well-dressed customers. Each drink recipe is accompanied by the facsimile signature of the bartender who created it, and also featured are multiple contemporary ads for various French liqueurs — among them Moët and Chandon champagne, Courvoisier, Cointreau, and Armangnac — as well as Parisian restaurants and bars, such as Le Select, Maxim's, Le Crillon, Le Rotonde, and Bar Guarani, these latter listed at rear with their street addresses in a section titled "Les Grands Bars."
A remarkable survival in such fine condition.
