Item #36856

There are two Samuel Blodget's of this time, the first, a merchant and inventor (1724-1807) who participated in the French and Indian War and then became a judge and merchant in New Hampsjire and his son, a merchant, architect and economist (1757-1814) who was a Captain during the Revolutionary War and strongly invested in Washington City real estate and development and also built the building for the First Bank of the United States in Philadelphia. A Simon Stevens, also of New Hampshire, son of Phinehas (born 1737), was a lieutenant in Capt. John Stark's company in the battle against Ticonderoga in 1758 and then during the Revolution he was a Loyalist volunteer in the British army.
