Two schoolmates Elizabeth Cole and Adina M. Gidley, start from Newburgh NY on Feburary 4, 1908 by rail to Arizona and California and back.
They arrive Feb. 9 in Bisbee, Ariz and are met by Mr. William Gidley and his daughter, a track overseer for the copper mine. She shares much information on the mines She mentions the discovery of the extensive caves found there (She missed the Bisbee fire of October 14, 1908, when over 100 buidings were destroyed).They stay through Feb. 19th (pp. 15-46). Later to Castroville, Fresno, Pacific Grove, Monterey (Hotel Del Monte) and San Francisco, in Calif.
