" 'Post-Adolescence', actually McAlmon's first book, having been written previously to 'A Hasty Bunch', continued the story, with the scene shifting to Greenwich Village, where McAlmon had lived briefly in 1920, and where he had met four of the authors he was publishing in 1923 — Williams, Mina Loy, Hartley and of course Bryher — each of whom, with the exception of Bryher, appeared, thinly disguised, in McAlmon's book. Williams reviewing 'Post-Adolescence' in 1924 for Transatlantic Review, called it a 'journal intime,' emphasizing that the book had only one character, 'a young man hounded in his own body by the realities of love and sex, which just at the close of adolescence are seen introspectively possessing him.'"
